Sat, 04 Mar 2017 10:11:37 +0000 TWO financing agreements worth over US$ 51 million have been signed by the Government with the African Development Bank (AfDB) for the provision of lines of credit to the Development Bank of Zambia (DBZ) and University of Zambia for the promotion of education for sustainable development in mineral resource management. Over US$1.6 million would support UNZA’s capacity to run an in-house Master’s degree programme in sustainable mineral development among other initiatives while a total of US$50 million sovereign- guaranteed line of credit was given to DBZ to enhance access to finance by the private sector. This brought the total amount provided to Zambia by AfDB in the past months to US$237 million.
