Tue, 12 Sep 2017 12:31:45 +0000 By Chintu Malambo A FORMER employee of Nsimbi Steel Zambia, in Kafue, has sued the firm for allegedly accusing him of theft that led to his arrest and detention in police cells for three days. Mr Elias Muyenga, in a statement of claim filed in the Lusaka High Court is demanding damages for false imprisonment and malicious falsehood. According to his claim, Mr Muyenga said on 28th September 2016, he was detailed by his supervisor to deliver unsecured pipes to a customer in Lusaka using a Tata truck registration number ALC 7406 which he was not competent to operate. While offloading the pipes, one of the pipe tilted forward and damaged the cabin of the truck. He was subsequently suspended from work without being paid his salary for the month of September, 2016.
