Lusaka Province Minister Japhen Mwakalombe said this during the installation of the Mayor of Mazabuka District held at the District’s Civic Center. Mr Mwakalombe stated that he was aware that there had been a lot of interferences in the running of Markets and bus stations and warned that the Bus Stations and Markets Act was still in force as government had ensured that the Local Government was enshrined in the Constitution. ‘‘Iam aware that the Zambian Constitution under Article 152 (2) states that, the National government and the Provincial administration shall not interfere with or compromise a Local Authority’s ability or right to perform its function,’’ he said.
