Meanwhile, police dealt with 177 various road traffic offences across the province In a statement made available to the Daily Nation, North Western commissioner of police Auxensio Daka said during the period in question, police mounted various crime check points and road traffic patrols to ensure that people celebrate the festive period in peace. He noted that some of the strategies implemented included township foot and motorised patrols and monitoring of notorious drinking places. He said during the festive period, police recorded 177 various traffic offences of which only one case was fatal, while 4 left people with serious injuries.
