Tue, 28 Nov 2017 15:03:43 +0000 ELEVEN Chinese nationals from Shumetie Investments, a company constructing the controversial Kalundu mall were on Sunday picked up by immigration officers for failing to produce valid documents regarding their stay in Zambia. Immigration public relations officer Namati Nshinka told the Daily Nation that 34 suspected illegal immigrates were picked by immigration officers on Sunday following an operation that was conducted by Lusak…a immigration regional office. Mr Nshinka said 10 of the Chinese nationals were arrested at the construction site at Kalundu mall, while one was apprehended from Carousel shopping mall for not having valid immigration papers for their stay in Zambia. Mr Nshinka said the Immigration department is waiting for the Chinese and other foreign nationals to produce legal documentation. All those arrested are still in custody.
