Ms Mwanakatwe said in a quest to diversify the country’s economy from mining to agriculture and other sectors, Government was focused on the production and commercialisation of cassava. The Minister was speaking in Mansa district during the launch of the Zambian Breweries Plc Cassava Project yesterday. “Government has put more emphasis on diversifying its economy from copper to agriculture, and we have realised that the Cassava sub-sector has so much potential to contribute to our country’s economy and improve the lives of local farmers if taken seriously, so we want to ensure that we promote Cassava production in the country,” she said.
