In this matter, Geophrey Mulenga Chanda, 34, of Solwezi was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission and charged with 90 counts for fraudulent false accounting and theft involving over K 2.4 million. When the matter came up before magistrate Greenwell Malumani, the accused pleaded not guilty to all the 90 counts. Chanda is allegedly charged with 21 counts of Fraudulent False Account contrary to Section 326 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia and 69 Counts of Theft by Servant contrary to Section 272 as read with Section 278 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
