Mr Banda said that the exercise was undertaken after the current neighborhood watch members were relieved of their duties for failing to deliver to the community’s expectations. He advised the newly recruited members to be committed and vigilant by ensuring that they prevented crime, maintained security and brought perpetrators of crime to book or risked similar fate. Meanwhile, police crime prevention unit chairperson Joseph Jere has appealed to the area councillor to engage relevant authorities to help increase the number of neighborhood watch members in the compound.
