Warriors began the week 33 fixture on a brighter note and stunned the Barclay’s Cup champions four minutes into the first half when Bibo Bindu beat Zanaco goalkeeper Toasta Nsabata to put Warriors ahead. Zanaco tried to get back into the game with their three lethal top men – Heritier Nkonko, Felix Nyaende and Augustine Mulenga – who missed a number of chances which could have seen the defending champions leveling the scores.
