Police in Gem sub-county are investigating the death of a two-month-old baby girl who died after she was allegedly poisoned by her mother.The infant, Mary Adhiambo, died after her mother Linnet Achieng Ooko allegedly poisoned her following a domestic squabble with the husband on Thursday evening.According to the Senior Assistant Chief of Asayi sub-location George Otieno Anyiyo, the woman also consumed the poison after giving it to the child.Reports indicate that the husband rushed the two to the nearby Asayi dispensary where they got first aid before being referred to Inuka Hospital.The infant later died at the hospital but the mother was treated and discharged.Mr. Anyinyo told Radio Ramogi that preliminary investigations have established that the woman differed with her husband Dan Ooko for allegedly cheating on her.
