By NATION REPORTERTROPICAL cyclone Chalane is today expected to hit Zambia.Weather experts have warned of strong winds and heavy rainfall and that the cyclone was expected to continue until Thursday.Many houses might be flooded especially in Lusaka, Eastern and Southern provinces. This is according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Centre (JTWC) latest warning on Tropical Cyclone 07S (Chalane) 26/21Z.The cyclone is expected to move southwest over Madagascar then westerly and strengthen over the Mozambique Channel by 28/15Z.More countries are set to be affected including parts of Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique and Madagascar.According to the Zambia Meteorological Department alert, December, January and February were highly likely to receive normal to above normal rainfall for the southern half of the country.The northern half will have a high chance of recording above normal rainfall.
