By NOEL IYOMBWATWO suspended University of Zambia students who have been identified as ring leaders of last week’s riots where the Vice Chancellor’s office was almost torched, have been arrested.Zambia Police spokesperson, Esther Katongo said the two were in police custody and would appear in court soon.Ms. Katongo however said the names of the two have been withheld for security reasons.“The two are still in police custody and they will appear in court but we have withheld their names, you will get their names when they appear in court,” Ms Katongo said.The University of Zambia management suspended eight students who allegedly incited others to riot over the decision not to allow students with outstanding fees to write semester examinations.The eight have been named as Chandra Chongo, Samuel Daka, Justine Ngosa, Boyd Simukoko, and Frank Chiyama.Other students are Langford Mbewe, Mwate Simpemba and Abraham Chilubaila.UNZA acting Head of Communication and Marketing Marjorie Nkamba confirmed in a […]
