By SIMON MUNTEMBASOUTH Africa’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa, has strongly reprimanded his minister of Finance, Tito Mboweni for inappropriate comment against Zambia.This follows Mr Mboweni’s comment on social media regarding the removal of Zambia’s Central Bank Governor, Denny Kalyalya by President Edgar Lungu.In January, Mr Mboweni was rebuked by the ANC for saying that the resolution of the ANC’s Nasrec 54th national conference to nationalise the central bank was a wrong decision.In a strongly worded statement rebuking Mr Mboweni’s sentiments, the party said: “The ANC is concerned about the public posture taken by Comrade Tito Mboweni in relation to resolutions and policy positions of the ANC, specifically on the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).In recent tweets, Mr Mboweni ‘demanded’ for reinstatement of Dr Kalyalya, threatening to mobilise if not given reasons why the action was taken.Mr Ramaphosa was disappointed that Mr Mboweni’s made such remarks and reprimanded him.This is according to a statement issued by acting […]
