PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has called for sustained bilateral ties with Malawi.The President said Zambia and Malawi have shared cordial relations over the years.The Head of State said this through Defence Minister Davies Chama who had represented him at the inauguration of Malawi’s Sixth President LazarousChakwera in Malawi yesterday.Mr. Chama said President Lungu had sent him to deliver a message of solidarity to the people of MalawiAnd Dr Chakwera has thanked President Edgar Lungu for sending a representative to witness his inauguration ceremony.Dr Chakwela said he spoke to President Lungu on Sunday and he was grateful for the support.He has said Malawi and Zambia will continue working together for the benefit of the two countries.Dr Chakwera said this when he held a meeting with Defence Minister, Davies Chama, who represented President Lungu at the inauguration.During the meeting, the two discussed issues affecting the two countries.Speaking during the colourful inauguration ceremony in Lilongwe, Dr. Chakwerapromised to fight corruption and laziness.Dr. Chakwera also said he would fight donor dependence as it has made the country poor.He said […]
