By IRVIN MUYUMBWAZAMBIA’S healthcare system will collapse if a lot of people contract the coronavirus disease, hence the need for people to take responsibility by adhering to preventive measures, Bwana Mkubwa Constituency Member of Parliament Jonas Chanda has said.Dr Chanda says currently, the country may not have the capacity to handle an explosive infection rate just like other developed countries which are now overwhelmed by high cases and many deaths.He called on citizens to take responsibility to ensure the Covid-19 does not spread to unmanageable levels.Dr Chanda said during an interview on Millennium Radio that by adhering to set preventive measures as well as complying to the mandatory wearing of face masks many people would survive the Covid-19 outbreak.He said the country was now in a very unusual time which needed the cooperation of all citizens.
