THOBEKANI Khanyile, a Product Manager at FNB Wealth and Investment in South Africa, has said China has continued to dominate the world economy and has been helping other countries to grow their economies with its export-led agenda focusing on technological advancement.
Mr Khanyile says China has continued to increase its ability to grow its economy and serve other countries, expand its customer base in Africa, South America, East Asia among other countries regions because it has been focusing on technological advancement such as renewable and non-renewable energy as well as electric motor vehicles.
Mr Khanyile said yesterday during the launch of FNB Structured Products that China was well positioned to provide the mentioned products to various countries, hence making it one of the world’s strongest economies
“The United States (US), Russia and China are big powers in terms of economy and size, but for China, it has been focusing on electrical vehicles, technological advancement, renewable and non-renewable energy. This has made China to be well positioned to provide these products to other countries,” Mr Khanyile said.
“This has, indisputably made China to dominate the World economy and continue to help other countries to grow their economies. Some of the pillars of the Chinese economy include that it is an export-led economy and has been focusing on technological advancement,” he said.
Mr Khanyile said being an export-oriented economy, China would continue to dominate the world economy and increase its customer base in various countries in Africa, South America and East Asia.
And Green Party president Peter Sinkamba has said China has been an all-weather friend to Zambia who should not be demonised for the mistakes and lapses by some Chinese investors in the country.
Mr Sinkamba said China had done a lot for Zambia compared to some countries which claimed to be more caring about Zambians when in fact they had a hidden agenda of depriving the country of its mineral resources
He said Zambia would not abandon the good relationship that exist between the two countries, but would strive to take the relationship to greater heights regardless of the developments on the international community.
Mr Sinkamba said unlike some countries which only sought friendship with Zambia when they wanted to benefit, the relationship between Zambia and China had been long standing with China supporting Zambia in various sectors of the economy such as mining, rail and others
“Unlike some countries who will embrace us, when it suits them, China has always been an all-weather friend, it delivers when it matters most. China who should not be demonised for the mistakes or lapses of some of the Chinese investors in the country,” he said.
“When you have a friend who has been good to you, embrace him even in difficult times. Genuine friendship is seen during difficult times. Don’t concentrate on bad things only, think about the good things he has done also,’’ Mr Sinkamba said.
