Midfield dynamo Edward Tembo is on his way out of Kabwe Warriors, the ZamFoot Crew has exclusively learned, with several MTN Super League clubs circling for his signature.
Tembo, who joined the Magnificent People’s Team in September 2024 as a free agent, has caught the attention of three top-tier sides following a solid campaign in the heart of midfield. He signed for Warriors after City of Lusaka sold their National Division One League status, a move that saw the club demoted to the Lusaka Division Four League. A sensational return to Nkoloma Stadium could be in the offing for Tembo, who enjoyed a successful spell with Red Arrows between 2021 and 2023, winning the MTN Super League title in the 2021/22 season. In addition to Red Arrows, two newly promoted MTN Super League clubs are also said to be keen on the services of the industrious box-to-box midfielder, known for his energy, versatility, and tactical awareness.
Sources close to the player have revealed that while there is strong interest, no deal has been finalised as Tembo’s camp continues to weigh available options.
Before his move to Warriors, Tembo also had productive spells with Buildcon and ZESCO United—Zambia’s nine-time league champions. While at ZESCO, he won three MTN Super League titles, solidifying his reputation as a consistent performer at the highest level.
Tembo is also a product of the successful Zambia Under-20 generation that triumphed at the 2017 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil and reached the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup held in South Korea.
