Mr Kasolo explains that these tax breaks are costly for the country and do not provide enough economic benefit to offset the cost the country is facing high inflation.
He also says gGovernment should be willing to negotiate better terms with the International Monetary Fund, and that it needs to be more flexible in its approach to implementing the IMF’s conditions and failure to that the government will be unable to effectively govern the country.
He says Government’s mismanagement of the economy has made it difficult to secure IMF funding, and that it may need to accept more stringent conditions to secure the funding. It’s clear that the IMF funding is seen as an important step in addressing the country’s economic challenges.
He adds that recruitment of civil servants such as teachers and health workers does not add value to the economy but just improves the country’s services
He adds that the process of hiring civil servants has been corrupted by politics, and that unqualified people are being hired and this is a major issue as it affects the quality of the civil service and the ability of the government to effectively implement its policies.
