GOVERNMENT has announced it will next year embark on the establishment of Community Digital Transformation Centres.

Science and Technology Minister Felix Mutati, said Smart Zambia will leverage on the infrastructure of the Zambia Postal Services Corporation and other appropriate infrastructure to establish these centres.
Mr Mutati said the centres will serve as hubs where citizens can access internet services for free.
The minister also said the electronic government services, such as trading licences, registering cooperatives, road taxes, social cash transfer will be available at the hubs.
Mr Mutati said these centres will not only provide internet access but will also serve as training grounds for digital literacy and skills programmes, including digital entrepreneurship and innovation, creating opportunities for jobs and empowerment.
“We believe that empowering our citizens with digital skills is as crucial as providing internet access.
This endeavour is a testament to our commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that every citizen can partake in the benefits of the digital era,” he said.
