THE blocking and subsequent ejection of former President Edgar Lungu from a flight deserves an apology from the highest level of Government.

It will not do to substitute remorse for the traditional irreverent and nonsensical rantings of Thabo Kawana.
The judiciary, which has already been accused of political complicity must also justify why a time bound judicial review application was deliberately set to be irrelevant and academic.
The experience of Kabushi and Kwacha are still fresh in the minds of Zambian people and it does not portend well that a clear injustice has been supported by the Judiciary.
An explanation from the Chief Justice is in order. Such machinations and brazen disregard for logic, legitimacy and legal validity cannot be allowed to pass.
Failure to challenge these misdirection will open our country to judicial misconduct that will pass for legitimate decisions that are in fact not.
The whole point of judicial review is to correct a decision that is illogical, procedurally incorrect and at worst nonsensical. It follows therefore that decisions must be time sensitive in the same way that the discredited Kwacha and Kabushi electoral proceedings were conducted.
State Counsel John Sangwa clearly stated last week that the Kabushi and Kwacha elections were stolen. This is a fact and no amount of excuses will change the situation.
That is an experience that has gone into the collective memory of the nation.
This country cannot ill afford such misdirection.
That is why we are asking why the judge in the former President Lungu matter set an interparty date long after the conference the former head of State was set to attend?
What was the intention, except for an academic ruse? By now, the Government should know that whatever Thabo Kawana addresses is discredited ab initio because he harbors the propensity for asinine rendition of serious Governance issues.
In short, Kawana has very limited public service experience to speak for the Government.
Let Mr. Patrick Kangwa and his colleagues at Cabinet office who under civil service procedure handle serious matters.
It cannot be for Kawana to comment on matters concerning the former President. What is telling is the fact that in the recent past, the former President has suffered indignity of being publicly humiliated by police, blocking him from attending a church gathering in Ndola, being denied permission to travel for his routine medical review in South Africa.
This is in addition to the general harassment that his family has suffered.
Zambians are not stupid. These matter are registering on the national psyche.
Zimbabwe debacle
The hypocrisy of politicians and Diplomats has been laid bare by the shambolic Zimbabwe elections.
Instead of dealing with the reality that the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops enumerated, they have chosen to vent their anger on Nevers Mumba who presented a damning preliminary report of the election. The veracity of the report has been questioned. Like Archbishop Alick Banda has repeatedly said; “what is wrong is wrong.”
The elections in Zimbabwe without a valid, verified and authenticated voters roll were a sham. This is reality.
