Speaking in an interview, Mr. Kalesha said there is need for the country to find investors for other minerals other than copper if the mining sector is to develop.
He said identifying investors for other minerals will be a game changer for Zambia.
Mr. Kalesha said it is high time the country recognised other minerals to be critical to the country’s economy.
Mr. Kalesha said it is important for the country to stop being over dependent on copper and exploit other minerals which are fetching at high prices on international market.
“We call upon President Hakainde Hichilema, who is the country’s chief marketing officer, to connect us to Chinese mining equipment suppliers to loan us excavators, dump trucks and core drilling equipment.
Government should be our guarantee. For exploration we will sign MOUs with UNZA and CBU school of mines to produce reports. It’s time to develop our country with our own God given mineral resources,” he says.
