KANKOYO Member of Parliament Heartson Mabeta has sent an “SoS” to Mines and Minerals Development Minister Paul Kabuswe to expedite the process of recapitalising Mopani and Konkola Copper Mines (KCM).

Mr Mabeta said non conclusion of Mopani and KCM made him irrelevant to the people of Kankoyo.
He said for a town like Mufulira, CDF was just like peanut butter on a well baked bread.
“No matter how fine the butter maybe, as long as you don’t get the bread right, the butter remains irrelevant, please ba minister, napapata twafweni,” he said.
Meanwhile, a consortium of civil society organisation’s have indicated that they would protest Mr Kabuswe’s failure to announce the Mopani/KCM investor.
The consortium comprising Advocates for National Development and Democracy and Zambians for Unity Peace and Development, said following the ministers failure to fullfil his July 14 promise, the consortium decided to engage President Hakainde Hichilema through a protest on August 12.
