Chamber president, Emmanuel Munsanje said it is important for Government to expedite the process to come up with the roadmap on Sugilite
“The Speaker of the National Assembly, Nelly Mutti should make the Minister of Mines, Paul Kabuswe to come up with a ministerial statement to cast light on the panorama of the rare purple asset in Luapula,” Mr Munsanje said.
And Mr Munsanje has apologised for the embarrassment caused to government officials at Muombe mine on Tuesday.
He said it was sad that some government officials led by Minister of Green Economy and Environment, Collins Nzovu and Permanent Secretary Mighty Mumba were attacked whilst appreciating what was on the ground at Muombe Mine
“On behalf of the business community in Luapula Province, we want to apologise for the embarrassment caused to government officials. In this time and era, in the first place, this should not have happened in the manner it had happened but dialogue is supreme.
“An ernest appeal to stakeholders is that let us move at lightning speed to sensitise each other as to what we are doing in handling sugilight assets, where we are as at now, what distance remains to be covered in bringing normalcy in precious and semi- precious metals,” he said.
