…Salulani Phiri and Cameroonian join Zambian champions

SUPER League champions Power Dynamos Football Club (PDFC) has been beefed up with the signing of five players ahead of the 2023/2024 season set to kick off on August 19, 2023.

Power, who are the only envoys in the CAF Confederations Cup have announced the signings of two formidable attacking midfielders, Cephas Mulombwa and Francis Zulu, as well as two exceptional defenders and a skilled anchorman.
Zulu, who is expected to bring a new level of skill and firepower to the team joins from Kabwe’s Prison Leopards Football Club.
Experienced midfielder Salulani Phiri who has represented the Chipolopolo and Polokwane City FC in South Africa joins Power after his contract at Zanaco came to an end.
Power have also beefed up with the acquisition of Gong Bong Lionel, a remarkable left back, from Cameroon.
“Lionel has showcased his skills across all levels of the game, representing his beloved nation in both junior and senior national teams. From South Africa, Bong, has eventually found himself in Zambia, making the leap to Power Dynamos FC after leaving Buildcon FC,” The club said in a statement issued by its Media Officer Pamela Muposi.
“Chiboni, a rising star, has undergone intense training and development at the prestigious Power Dynamos Football Club during his developmental years, while Cephas Mulombwa, a lightning-fast midfielder from Forest Rangers Football Club, is set to show off incredible moves and demonstrate his skill and determination.”
Meanwhile, Power’s Chief Executive Officer, Gibson Chaloba, expressed his excitement at the latest signings, saying the new players would elevate the squad’s performance in both the prestigious CAF Champions League and the highly competitive FAZ Super League.
Power is all set to take on the formidable African Stars of Namibia in their inaugural CAF showdown on August 18, 2023.
Power says it is also gearing up to take on Simba SC of Tanzania in an international friendly on August 6, 2023.
