WE are giving ZNBC a one-week ultimatum to stop airing propaganda documentaries about President Hakainde Hichilema’s suffering while in opposition and failure to do so would lead to us seeking legal redress, Zambia Republican Party (ZRP) President, Wright Musoma, has said.
Mr Musoma said ZNBC was a public broadcaster and that it was wrong for the UPND to use it for propaganda.
He said he would be left with no option but act by going to court if ZNBC did not stop the airing of the contemptuous documentaries.
“I will personally sue ZNBC if they do not stop airing the documentaries which also air on Prime TV because they are dangerous and divisive,” Mr Musoma said.
Mr Musoma said the two institutions have been airing two documentaries showing the suffering Mr Hichilema went through at the hands of the PF while he was in opposition with narrations that border on incitement.
The documentaries include Mr Hichilema’s arrest and 127-day incarceration on a treason charge, and his dramatic escape from Sun FM radio station on the Copperbelt.
But Mr Musoma said UPND were the ones in power and therefore should stop misusing public institutions for their agenda.
He said the country should not allow such and that was the reason why he would engage the courts of law to seek justice.
