Fired up Arrows seek top spot

RED Arrows will seek to fly to the summit of the MTN/FAZ Super League table by beating Indeni FC in today’s rescheduled Week-17 fixture at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
Motivated by seven consecutive wins with the latest being a 2-1 beating of Zanaco FC, the Airmen will aim to protect their 11-game unbeaten run in their quest to dislodge the league leaders Green Buffaloes who are on 30 points, one point ahead of Red Arrows.
Led by veteran striker James Chamanga whose brace denied Zanaco a spot in the ABSA Cup, Arrows are deemed as favourites over Dabid Chilufya’s Indeni FC.
Indeni are languishing in the relegation zone despite having won the last two games and will aim to stop the Airmen to climb out of relegation.
Indeni will rely on striker Cephas Handavu to inspire the team after his solo goals helped the Ndola outfit to beat Zanaco and Nkwazi FC in the last two games.
A win over Red Arrows will propel Indeni from 15th to 12th on the Super League table while defeat will make the relegation fight more complicated.
Meanwhile, Kafue Celtics and Prison Leopards will face off with both teams aiming to bounce back from their respective defeats to Kabwe Warriors and Zesco United in their last fixtures.
The match at Edwin Imboela Stadium promises to be a nail-biting encounter as both teams will be fighting for a win to avoid dropping into the danger zone on the Super League table.
While Prison Leopards will be fighting to recover from two consecutive defeats to Green Eagles and Zesco United, the Crocs will fight to start the year on a positive note by picking their fifth win of the season.
Celtics coach Joe Bwalya will look to his top strikers in Albert Kangwanda, Chilimina Brian and Christopher Bwalya to inspire the team to another home win while Prison Leopards will look to former under 20 striker Conlyde Luchanga to inspire his team after impressing in Prisons last win, 2-0 win over Konkola Blades.
The second round of the Super League resumes tomorrow with Sunset Stadium hosting a double header involving Lusaka Dynamos and Green Buffaloes while Zanaco FC will host Kansanshi Dynamos in the second game.
