THE Patriotic Front (PF) in its rebranding will discard all indisciplined members like the Lusaka Youth chairperson Mr Kelvin Kaunda who disregarded its rules and regulations and continued issuing inflammatory remarks against the top leadership of the party.
PF disciplinary committee chairperson Tutwa Ngulube said the party would soon constitute a team to probe the misconduct of Mr Kaunda and all related cases before they cause anarchy in the organisation.
Mr Ngulube said Mr. Kaunda was among the people who were suspended from the Lusaka Province executive and despite the suspension he had continued issuing inflammatory remarks and disparaging the party’s top leadership.
He said that it was unfortunate that Mr Kaunda had decided to start speaking on behalf of youths before the issues that had led to his suspension were dealt with. “He started speaking for the youth who, we feel, he is not even representing.”
Mr Kaunda recently suggested that the appointment of Mr Given Lubinda as acting PF president was illegal and disrespected the party’s constitution after the incumbent, Mr Edgar Lungu stepped down.
Mr Ngulube also warned Mr Kaunda, his friends and all would-be offenders that the party would deal with them fairly and squarely because it did not tolerate their kind of behaviour.
He said that Mr Kaunda needed to resign from the party or form his own political party if he did not want to abide by the rules of the PF.
Mr Ngulube said that it was such kind of indiscipline that landed the party where it was now. .
“What I can assure you is that the axe will soon land on people like Mr Kaunda who are causing anarchy,” he said.
Mr Ngulube said that Mr. Kaunda was offside on what he said about Mr Lubinda acting as PF president because there was nothing illegal about that.
