THE UPND should not bulldoze and sneak in their agenda in the constitution review process because it will be promoting illegality in the country, says Economic Freedom Fighters president Kasonde Mwenda.
Mr Mwenda said that the process needed to be consultative and in respect of the aspirations of Zambian people.
He said that the ruling UPND should not push their personal agenda at the expense of Zambians but needed to follow the law.
Mr Kasonde said it would be very wrong for the UPND to sneak in policies and agendas that did not mean well for the Zambian populace.
‘’It is not up to the UPND Government to decide what lacunas to be removed but the people of Zambia at large,’’ he said.
He said the will of the people would prevail and that if they imposed themselves on the people then the end result would be bad.
Mr Kasonde said that there were other pertinent issues like the Public Order Act which the current government had gone mute about.
He said that the people of Zambia were the custodians of the law and that the ruling party needed to respect their will.
‘’If the current government tries to sneak in their agendas the people of Zambia will not accept because that will be outright criminality,’’ he said.
Mr Kasonde said that there should be a consensus with the masses to decide which lacunas should be worked on when the amendment starts.
