ZANACO coach Mumamba Numba says the two-week pre-season training camp has helped the team get back on track ahead of the CAF champions League preliminary match against Gambia’s Armed Forces next month.
Speaking in an interview after arrival from Chipata, Numba said the camping was a success.
He said the aim of the camping was to get the players regain fitness and gel the team.
He was happy that the new players had blended well with the rest of the team and determined to achieve positive results with the team.
“It was a successful camping and I was impressed with the hard work and discipline from the players. We are on track to getting ready for the CAF Champions League match against the Gambian Forces,” he said.
Numba said the team will remain focused and continue training to be fully ready for the task ahead.
Zanaco face Gambia’s Armed Forces in the preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League on February 9, in Lusaka before the return leg two weeks later.
Meanwhile, reigning Super League champions Zesco United yesterday arrived in Johannesburg for a 12-day camping.
Zesco who are also in the race for the CAF champions League title will face JKU FC of Zanzibar next month.
