He is a big coward
By SIMON MUNTEMBA
I AM ready to face Chishimba Kambwili, the coward who roars louder than his strengths in court, says Economic and Equity Party (EEP) leader Chilufya Tayali.
And Mr Tayali has told Mr Kambwili to leave President Edgar Lungu out of his alleged fraudulent cases as the President was not involved in anyway.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday, Mr Tayali said the Roan PF constituency lawmaker’s arrest and his wild allegations against State house are unfounded.
“It is not politics but criminality and President Edgar Lungu is not part of this because I am following him on his own issues as well. I am the complainant on behalf of Zambians and if I want I can go and withdraw the case because I reported it alone and there is nothing that President Lungu can do.
“While we are looking forward to going to court and give our evidence, it is somewhat clear that Mr Kambwili knows what he has done but he does not want to go down alone,” Mr Tayali said.
Mr Tayali said his party was dismayed and disappointed by the statement Mr Kambwili made before and after his arrest.
He said it was illogical for Mr Kambwili to accuse the police of being used by State House, particularly President Lungu, when in fact, he (Tayali) is the complainant in the matter on behalf of Zambians.
“The report came from the mines where Mr Kambwili was bullying mine workers and suppliers to have a lion’s share of the contracts to the mines using a fraudulent company,” Mr Tayali alleged.
“So, this matter has nothing to do with State House, or the PF as a party but a case for Zambians who do not want to see fraudulent people hiding in their fake companies to engage in corruption, because their names are not written on their companies,” Mr Tayali alleged.
He also alleged that, “Mr Kambwili also alleged that the police wanted to poison him, we believe that, these are figments of the mind of a person scared of going to jail for the crimes he knows he has committed.”
He charged that Mr Kambwili was a coward who wants to use State House as a scapegoat for his alleged fraudulent activities.
“He is such a coward that he had to carry a bunch of cadres as if they were eating together the money he made.
“Much as we appreciate the fight against corruption, we are not naive to take the allegations of corruption on President Lungu and his family, especially on Tasila, who Mr Kambwili implicated yesterday (Tuesday), because we could tell that the man has been cornered and he wants some people to go down with him,” Mr Tayali said.
