POWER Dynamos have charged that midfielder Larry Bwalya is still their player and threatened to report Nkana to FAZ for illegally registering him for the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
According to a 27-player list released on Tuesday, Nkana have registered Larry for the continental competition without clinching a deal with Power which was against FAZ transfer statutes and regulations.
Power chairperson Bbenkele Haachitwe said Nkana had been told on two occasions that Larry was not for sale.
Haachitwe told Daily Nation in an interview that the midfielder who is away on Chipolopolo duty in Morocco still had a running contract with Power.
“Nkana had written to us on twice requesting for the services of Larry, but clearly replied that he was not for sale. We have a better plan for him and he has a two-year running contract. Power have no intentions whatsoever of loaning or selling him to Nkana,” he said.
He said Nkana’s behaviour was uncalled for and indicated that the club would engage FAZ over the matter after investigations.
“If indeed Nkana has done that, then it’s very unfortunate and we should be able to engage FAZ over such behaviour,” he said.
Haachitwe said the club will endeavour to follow the correct transfer procedure and not underhand methods.
Nkana secretary Ken Mwansa could not be reached for a comment by press time.
Nkana are scheduled to begin their CAF Confederation Cup race in March and await the winner between CR Belouizdad of Algeria and a Malian side yet to be named.
