THE United Prosperous and Peace Zambia (UPPZ) is opposed to the resignation of cabinet ministers after they have allegedly amassed wealthy.
UPPZ leader Charles Chanda noted that it was foolish for any cabinet minister to claim that there was corruption after they had gathered enough in the same government they were citing corruption.
He said those who were pointing fingers at how corrupt government was but failed to confront the suspects when they sat together in cabinet, must shut up outside because they were cowards. Mr Chanda challenged the investigative wings to step in and reprimand such people because they were not giving evidence to the people of Zambia. “Zambia is full of wonders when it comes to politics because we first eat together and sing praise songs because we have access to resources and can afford to build houses and invest because of the position we hold.
And when we have gathered enough wealth and can afford to live without ministerial privileges and now need power, we then wash our hands .
We even say we are clean from corruption, and you busy saying cabinet is corrupt when you are outside,” he said. Mr Chanda urged Zambians not to fall prey to such leaders because they were cowards and only wanted to fulfill their selfish needs. “If you failed to confront corruption as a cabinet minister and you ran away, how can you confront it as an outsider?
And am appealing to the people of Zambia not to fall prey to such leaders because they have got nothing to offer, because all that they want is power,” he said.
