A HEALTH practitioner has pleaded with the Lusaka high court to dissolve his five -year marriage with his wife whom he alleged has threatened to poison him on many occasions.
Samwalu Milupi a Pharmacist working at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital sued Berth Namulunga Milupi a social worker in the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services claiming that the marriage had broken down irretrievably.
Mr Milupi alleged in a petition for dissolution of marriage filed in the High Court that his wife had threatened to poison him and that the threats greatly affected the marriage to an extent that he stopped eating food prepared by her.
He indicated that Ms Milupi also lacked respect for him as she would insult and verbally abuse him without reason.
Mr Milupi further claimed that during the said marriage, he discovered that his wife still communicated with her ex-boyfriend and that he found texts and dialled numbers. He said that when he confronted her she admitted to have had extramarital affairs.
“I discovered that my wife still communicates with her ex-boyfriend. I have found text messages, dialled numbers and when I confronted her, she admitted and that they have actually been secretly meeting,” he claimed.
Mr Milupi also alleged that his wife with whom he has three children had been hostile towards their dependants and family members from his side and despite several counselling meetings set by their parents, she had clearly failed to change resulting in poor communication between them.
He claimed that there had been no common marriage life between them hence August 2016 when the two parties went separate ways.
Now Mr Milupi prays that the court grant him divorce and that be given custody of their children.
