PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu deserves to be supported by well-meaning Zambians because he has demonstrated a strong character by making difficult decisions which other previous Presidents failed to make, Information Minister Kampamba Mulenga has said.
Speaking in Kitwe yesterday when she met the PF Kitwe district leadership at their offices, Ms Mulenga said President Lungu deserved to be supported because in the short time he has been in office, he has made difficult decisions in the interest of achieving economic recovery and national development.
Ms Mulenga, who is Kalulushi Member of Parliament, said while some previous republican Presidents failed to make difficult decisions because of their fear to lose popularity, President Lungu has demonstrated his strong character by making difficult decisions.
“I can tell you that President Lungu means well for this country and deserves to be supported. He has made difficult decisions which other Presidents failed to make. He is a man who is not scared of losing popularity through making a difficult, but right decision in the interest of the nation,” Ms Mulenga said.
And Ms Mulenga has told the PF leadership in Kitwe to desist from being selfish and greedy, but work together as one family so that the party can set a firm and strong stage for 2021 elections.
And Kitwe district PF Women vice-chairperson Alice Siabula said the PF women in Kitwe were also appealing for empowerment, especially now when opposition members were approaching the ruling party with the intentions of joining it.
