POLICE in Solwezi have arrested four students for unlawful possession of Grade 12 examination materials contrary to section 19 (1) Cap 137 of Examination Council of Zambia Act.
The incidents happened yesterday at Kyawama Secondary School and Solwezi Skills Centre.
North Western Province Commissioner of Police Auxensio Daka identified the suspects as Andrew Mayonde, 24 and Patricia Nvela, 22 both of Zambia Compound who were arrested at Solwezi Skills Centre.
“The other two are Abraham Musukwa, 22 of Kyawama compound and Cephas Kambiya, 19 of Solwezi Technical Secondary School Teacher’s compound, he said. He said that Kambiya was apprehended at Solwezi Skills Centre where he was impersonating and signed in as Bosco Sibulimba, an offence he said falls under section 19 (2) cap 137 of ECZ Act. He said all the four were GCE students sitting for the Mathematics Paper One examination.
“Dockets have been opened, the suspects have been detained and investigations have been instituted to establish the source of the materials,” he added.
