The National Association of Media Arts (NAMA) has been selected to receive the International Quality Summit (IQS) Award in the GOLD Category at the International Business Initiative Directions (BID) Quality Convention which will take place in New York, the United States of America on Monday, May 29th. |
According to a letter signed by BID president and chief executive officer Jose Prieto and sent to the NAMA Chairman Patrick Salubusa, this award is presented to an entity to recognise leadership, quality, innovation, excellence, technology, innovation, customer service and prestige.
The letter further states that the IQS award is given to leaders by leaders and is sponsored by 26 Imarpress Media Publications.
And the NAMA Chairman has described the selection as a motivation to the association’s quest to put value on media arts especially filmmaking and distribution.
“We recently awarded our local filmmakers and TV personalities through the Multichoice Zambia Film and Television Awards, the ZAFTAs, and now it’s our turn to receive the IQS award which will of course strengthen our position of leadership in media arts and help us to improve the growth and visibility of the film industry in Zambia,” said Salubusa.
The 2017 international IQS convention will take place in New York on May 28th and 29th, with the award presentation being held at the spectacular Ballroom of the New York Marriott Marquis, in the center of Manhattan and delegates of the award winning businesses, organizations, universities and educational institutions will participate along with other leaders.
NAMA is an arts association legally mandated to sit on the National Arts Council of Zambia board to represent all those involved in the production of radio drama and film and televion content.
The association was founded in 2000 with now USA based filmmaker Jabbes Mvula as it’s founding chairman. In 2012 Salubusa took over as chairman and in 2014 the association introduced the Zambia Film and Television Awards (ZAFTAs) which Multichoice Zambia is supporting as major sponsor hence calling the awards held recently at Pamodzi Hotel as Multichoice ZAFTA 2017.
