GOVERNMENT has appointed the third council of Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) which will be headed by Prof. Sekelani Banda as council chairperson.
Ministry of Health public relations officer Terry Musonda said Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya appointed a 16-member council last month pursuant to section 1 (1) under the first schedule of the health professions act No 24 of 2009.
“The third (3rd) council of the Health Professions Council of Zambia was appointed on 27th March, 2017 by the Honourable Minister of Health Dr. Chitalu Chilufya. The appointment was pursuant with section 1 (1) under the first schedule of the health professions act No 24 of 2009,” Mr. Musonda.
Among those appointed include Zambia Medical Association (ZMA) President Aaron Mujajati whom is council vice chairperson while Dr. Lonia Mwape from the General Nursing Council, Dr. Jabbin Mulwanda from the Ministry of Health, Prof. Charles Michelo from UNZA School of public health and Brigadier Gen. (Dr.) Adrian Maleya from the Defence Forces Medical Services.
Others are Dr. Clarence Chiluba, Ms. Jane M. Chinkusu, Mr. James M. Kapesa, Mr. Makomani Siyanga, Ms. Diana M. Shamabobo, Dr. Shailen Desai, Dr. Dhally M. Menda, Dr. Christopher Kapeshi, Mrs. Caroline Yeta, and Mr. Robby Makwelele.
