Lusaka District Commissioner Rosa Kayuni has urged various stakeholders and cooperating partners to strengthen their coordination with her office to accelerate development efforts in the district.
Ms. Kayuni emphasized that the challenges faced by communities can only be effectively addressed when all players in the district embrace teamwork and coordinated action.
She made the remarks when Fresh Minds Movement Entrepreneurship (FMME) National Programmes Director, Bhavine Mwale, paid a courtesy call on her.
“I am calling on all stakeholders in the district to ensure they work closely with the district administration in implementing projects intended to benefit our people,” she said.
The District Commissioner questioned why some stakeholders operate outside government systems, noting that such practices hinder the identification and effective resolution of challenges affecting both communities and the stakeholders themselves.
Ms. Kayuni commended Mr. Mwale for undertaking a project that supports government efforts to improve the livelihoods of citizens, particularly young people.
Mr. Mwale said his organization is committed to helping communities in Lusaka and across the country improve their academic and social well-being. He added that FMME aligns its work with the Sustainable Development Goals to inspire positive mindsets toward development and environmental responsibility.
“As FMME, we aim to promote entrepreneurship and connect learners to higher learning institutions,” he said.
He encouraged community members to take advantage of the program to enhance their livelihoods, noting that the organization has already engaged more than 5,200 students at the University of Zambia and the Copperbelt University.
