POLICE say no arrest has been made in connection with the assault of Mambilima Member of Parliament Jean Chisenga, who reported being slapped during an altercation at the National Assembly restaurant.
According to Emmasdale Police Station, through Manda Hill Police Post, the incident occurred on September 12, 2025, around 14:00 hours, Ms. Chisenga, 36, of Chalala in Lusaka, told police she was able to identify the suspect if seen.
Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the MP sustained pain on the left side of her face following the assault and has since been issued with a medical report.
Ms. Chisenga reported the matter on September 15, 2025, and investigations have since been launched.
“Members of the public will be kept updated as inquiries into the matter progress,” he said.
