In recent years, Africa has been witnessing a new wave of young entrepreneurs and leaders who are not only challenging the status quo but also redefining the continent’s role in the global economy. Among these emerging trailblazers is David Mantiziba, a visionary entrepreneur whose remarkable journey and strategic insights earned him recognition at the prestigious Fourth Edition of the Africa CEO Summit held in Nigeria. Organized by the Pan African Youth Leadership Foundation, this summit brought together influential business leaders, policymakers, and international delegates from across Africa and beyond, creating a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and inspiration.
David Mantiziba’s appearance at the summit was a testament to his growing influence and the impact of his work across the continent. The event was graced by notable figures such as Dr. Martha Namundjebo-Tilahun, Group Chairperson of UAG Investment Limited from Namibia, and Dr. Adeyemi Adeniyi, founder of GMD and Vice Chairman of the summit. Delegates from Namibia, The Gambia, Ghana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania exchanged ideas, forging new partnerships aimed at accelerating Africa’s economic development.
During the summit, David shared his inspiring journey and vision for Africa’s future. “It was such an honor as well for me to be awarded Young African CEO of the Year 2025,” he said. “This means a lot to me, representing my nation Zimbabwe and the SADC region where I come from. I started a microbank at the age of 22 in Zimbabwe, and I became the youngest CEO of a microfinance institution ever recorded by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. Today, we have branches across Zimbabwe and Zambia, and our vision is to expand operations to all 16 countries in the SADC region.”
David’s entrepreneurial journey is a story of resilience, innovation, and a commitment to making a difference. As the licensed operator of Eazi Apps UK franchise, he has been instrumental in developing software and mobile applications in Zimbabwe and South Africa. His involvement in real estate across Zimbabwe further exemplifies his diversified portfolio and dedication to building sustainable wealth and infrastructure in Africa.
His pioneering efforts in microfinance have garnered numerous accolades. Wildfin Microfinance, the institution he founded, was the first in Zimbabwe to offer digital borrowing to its customers—allowing individuals to access credit conveniently from their homes. This innovation attracted over a million users on their platform, transforming how financial services are delivered and accessed in Zimbabwe. David’s leadership and vision have earned him several awards across Africa, recognizing his role in fostering financial inclusion and technological advancement.
In July, David was also honored with the *100 Leading Investors in Africa Award* by the Africa Investment Leaders Forum in South Africa. Reflecting on this recognition, David expressed: “This award reaffirms our commitment to investing in Africa’s future, creating opportunities that empower our people, and fostering sustainable development across the continent.”
At the summit, David passionately emphasized the importance of removing mental barriers among Africans and promoting intra-Africa trade. “Our world is a state of imbalance, and the consequences are evident—continuous turmoil globally,” he stated. “From an African perspective, we make up 25% of the world’s physical mass and population, control 45% of critical minerals, and hold 60% of the world’s arable land, yet contribute only 2% of global GDP. While others benefit from this imbalance, I believe Africa has the potential to contribute at least 25% of the world’s GDP within the next 100 years. To achieve this, Africa must seek partnerships with visionaries who see this potential and are willing to work with us.”
David underscored the significance of Africa’s identity and its immense potential. “Africans are incredibly gifted, and we have so much to contribute to the global economy,” he asserted. “Understanding our identity as Africans and harnessing our unique strengths is critical for our continent’s growth.”
Concluding his address, David expressed his appreciation for the young attendees. “Young people are the future of Africa,” he said. “Events like this are not just about securing funding but about gaining wisdom, knowledge, and inspiration from those who have traveled the path before us. We must leverage this collective intelligence to build a prosperous Africa.”
David Mantiziba’s story is a beacon of hope and a call to action for Africa’s youth and leaders. His achievements reflect a deep commitment to transforming the continent’s economic landscape through innovation, strategic partnerships, and a strong belief in Africa’s potential. As he continues to expand his ventures and influence, David exemplifies what it means to be a young African leader dedicated to making a meaningful difference—one that will shape the continent’s future for generations to come.
