PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has called on Zambians to eternalize unity for only then would the country achieve its economic development agenda, warning that there would be no meaning economic and social progression in a country of divided citizens.
President Hichilema has implored Zambians to change with times, stating that often the signs of changing times were on the wall but that the people of God were largely ignoring them.
Speaking when he attended a church service at the Kwacha East United Church of Zambia (UCZ) yesterday, President Hichilema said God created all human beings without segregation and it was therefore Zambians got more united irrespective of where they come from.
The head of State said he was elected to serve Zambians and that he had since endeavored to meet his promises of uniting the country, providing free education to the poor, vulnerable and orphans, which has seen more than two million go back to school.
“We are pleased to have accepted to come and worship with you here at Kwacha East United Church of Zambia. We have been listening to the homily and it good.
It is indeed time that we should change the narrative. We must change with time. We must read the signs.
Many time the signs are there on the wall but the people of God chose to ignore them.
Among the signs we should read is that we must eternalise is that we must remain a united country,” President Hichilema said.
The head of State said with unity, the country was bound to achieve as much as it desired.
“You put us in public office to work for you.
Let us love each other and where there is love, everything is possible. There must be unity among churches across the country,” the head of State said.
