THE National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) has reached out to the Rwandan High Commission in Lusaka to set the stage for Zambia’s participation in the 2025 UCI Road World Championship in Kigali in September.
NOCZ president Alfred Foloko accompanied by Cycling Association of Zambia (CAZ) president Andrew Chibuye met with Rwandan High Commissioner to Zambia, Emmanuel Bugingo, to discuss Zambia’s potential participation in the 2025 UCI Road World Championship scheduled to take place in Kigali, Rwanda, from September 21 to 28, 2025.
CAZ, in collaboration with the National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ), is exploring various participation pathways for the country’s cycling team to be part of this landmark event.
The meeting at the Rwandan High Commission in Lusaka marked a historic milestone as it is first time the Road World Championships will be held on the African continent, a powerful moment for cycling development across Africa.
According to the NOCZ media, Foloko and Chibuye expressed delight at the warm reception and support offered by the High Commission during the meeting.
