COPPER Queens strikers, skipper Barbara Banda, Rachael Kundananji and Frida Mukoma became the first players to arrive in Morocco ahead of the Women Africa Cup of Nations that kicks on July 5.
Banda who plays for Orlando Pride and Kundananji from Bay FC, who are based in the United States of America linked up with Mukoma who plays in China for Beijing Women Football Club.
According to the statement shared by FAZ Media yesterday, the trio landed in Casablanca in the afternoon yesterday.
The other USA-based midfielders Priscah Chilufya and Grace Chanda are expected in the North African country today.
Other foreign-based players like Margaret Belemu, Martha Tembo, Mupopo Kabange and Xiomara Mapepa are already with the team that left Lusaka on Sunday.
The team was scheduled to arrive in Morocco last evening.
Zambia will set up base in Casablanca as part of preparations for the tournament which kicks off on July 5 with the Copper Queens taking on the host nation in the opener in Rabat. Zambia will also face Senegal and Democratic Republic of Congo who are also in Group A.
