STANDARD Chartered Bank has donated K83, 580 to Aspire Mobility Clinic in a significant step towards supporting Zambians living with disabilities.
The bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sonny Zulu said the financial institution is proud to partner with Aspire Clinic in its mission to empower people with physical disabilities by equipping them with tools to lead productive, independent lives.
“One of our key strategic goals is to foster a more inclusive society where everyone can thrive, regardless of physical challenges. That is why we chose to support the first-ever Aspire Mobility Clinic, which is dedicated to transforming lives by providing prosthetic services, restoring mobility and dignity to amputees across Zambia.
Initiatives like these not only enhance individual livelihoods but also contribute meaningfully to Zambia’s Gross Domestic Product,” Mr Zulu said during the cheque handover ceremony in Lusaka.
The Aspire Mobility Clinic brought together individuals living with physical disabilities, offering them a rare opportunity to access rehabilitation services, participate in adaptive sports, and engage in community-building activities.
The event aimed to address not only physical mobility but also promote emotional empowerment and social inclusion.
The financial support from Standard Chartered will enable Aspire Clinic to establish a dynamic and supportive platform where people of all ages and backgrounds can confront their physical challenges, build confidence, and explore new possibilities.
In expressing her gratitude, Aspire Clinic Director, Marissa Nel, commended Mr Zulu for his personal involvement in the event.
“We are deeply thankful for Mr. Zulu’s presence and words of encouragement, which left a lasting impact on every participant,” Ms Nel said. “His genuine engagement reminded each individual that they are seen, valued, and have an important role to play in shaping Zambia’s social and economic future.”
