IT would be irresponsible for Government to continue collecting taxes and collapse the industries that pay duties, says Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Chipoka Mulenga, defending the suspension of the 15 percent export duty on emeralds.
And Mr Mulenga has revealed that Government was planning on meeting with gemstone industry players to strategise on the possibility of bringing in polishing machines for the stones to create value addition.
