FIRST Capital Bank (FCB) Chief Executive Officer Andre Potgieter has said the bank is rooted in the community and is committed to being part of the solution to societal challenges and making a positive impact on the lives of its customers, employees and the wider community
Mr Potgieter said FCB was not just about numbers and transactions, but was also about serving the community and making a positive impact through improving the lives of people in various communities and supporting the women in various ways
Mr Potgieter, whose bank donated 15 mattresses and 40 blankets to the Kitwe Teaching Hospital (KTH) maternity wing on Women’s Day, said it was committed to being part of the solution to societal challenges and making a positive impact on the lives of its customers, employees and the wider community

Today, w are proud to add our voice to supporting women in the maternity wing because we believe that every mother and every child deserves the best possible care,’’ Mr Potgieter said
He said the donation made at the hospital on Women’s Day was just one example of its efforts to give back and make a difference, aligned to other ethos of ‘\”belief comes first” adding that, the company has been operating in Zambia since 2013.
Apart from operating in Zambia, Mr Potgieter said the bank also operates in five SADC countries – Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe – with a commitment to serve the cross-border banking needs to customers
“In Zambia, the bank has 51 percent local ownership and a strong local management team and a footprint of branches in Lusaka, Kitwe and Ndola. First Capital Bank is rooted in our community and committed to being part of the solution to societal challenges.”

Mr Potgieter said the Global Banking and Finance Review Awards recognised excellence in banking and finance globally emphasizsing that the awards are presented annually to banks and financial institutions that have demonstrated exceptional performance, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
