SENA Plus Investments Limited, a Chinese-owned company, is opposing the Director of Public Prosecutions’ (DPP) application to forfeit over 2,000 pieces of forest produce harvested illegally.
The company’s director, Wang Xuexin, has raised preliminary issues on a point of law, arguing that the Non-Conviction Based forfeiture of assets is not applicable in this case. According to Wang Xuexin’s affidavit, the DPP seeks to forfeit 1,898 Mopane logs, 152 Mukwa logs, 19 Mupapa logs, and various equipment, including fork lifters, wood misers, trucks, and trailers.
