THE Lusaka High Court has sentenced Blackford Phiri, a businessman, to life in prison for murdering a five-year-old child.
Phiri, who was the landlord and former lover of the child’s mother, Memory Chilala, was found guilty of killing Justine Mvula Junior.
According to the court records, Phiri’s relationship with Chilala turned sour after she ended their affair and moved out of his house.
The child, who had grown close to Phiri and referred to him as “Daddy,” went missing on September 10, 2019.
