THE US government has provided a waiver for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to provide HIV medications to poor nations.
The Trump administration had thrown the foreign aid programme into disarray by putting it on a 90-day ‘pause’ along with all other foreign aid.
People with HIV were not even allowed to pick up their medications.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the development.
