…as he says service stations that have no fuel are facing logistic challenges

THE Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has refuted claims that the country is experiencing fuel shortage.
It had been revealed that some service stations had ran out of patrol because there was shortage of the commodity at TAZAMA.

Some service stations in Lusaka had shutdown operations because they were unable to access the commodity.
But ERB Board Chairperson, Reynolds Bowa, said the rumours were false and Zambians should treat them as such.
Mr Bowa said to the best of his knowledge, the country had enough fuel and the stock was enough for the required consumption.
In an interview, Mr Bowa said it was only a few service stations that had ran out of petrol due to some logistical challenges.
“It is not true, to the best of my knowledge, there are few service stations that have run out of petrol but according to our statistics, the country still has adequate stock of petrol.
Those who have run out of petrol have some logistical problems,” he said.
Mr Bowa was confident that the few service stations that were facing challenges by now had resolved the issue.
Mr Bowa said TAZAMA had enough stock that can be accessed by all oil marketing companies.
“TAZAMA has enough stock that can be accessed by all oil marketing companies, the issue of TAZAMA running out stock is not true,” he said.
